I have been to Thailand more than a dozen times and stayed in loads of hostels in different parts of the country. I’m the type of person who stays in a Hostel where commuting can be very easy, where you can have easy access to tourist spots and where you can have a quick meal just few steps away from your Hostel entrance.
When choosing a place to stay, I always make sure that I will feel safe and comfortable. To help you choose, I listed down the best Hostels I personally stayed in and hopefully you will find what suits you best.
BEST HOSTELS IN THAILAND
- BANGKOK -
KINNON DELUXE HOSTEL
LOCATION: Soi 6 Silom Road, Bangrak, Bangkok
This is my personal favorite. The property is just a 10-minute walk from Sala Daeng BTS Skytrain Station and Silom MRT Station. Restaurants, massage centers, family mart and patpong night market are just few steps away. Trust me when I say that they have the nicest staff.
The best thing about this Hostel is it is so comfortable that you can sleep for straight 8 hours. They provide two pillows and a really warm blanket. I usually book a bed in 8-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room. Oh I almost forgot to mention how good their free breakfast is.
SILOM SPACE HOSTEL
LOCATION: 8 Silom Road Soi 2, Bangrak, Bangkok
This Hostel is literally 20 steps away from Sala Daeng BTS Skytrain. Another cool thing about this property is that you are not allowed to wear slippers or shoes inside. You have to leave them next to reception area and that's how they maintain the cleanliness.
You can easily go to different malls from here though the Skytrain or the MRT. The only downside of this Hostel is that there is a bar downstairs and the music stays on until about 2AM. It isn't really that loud from the inside but if you're a light sleeper the this is probably not the right one for you.
3HOWW HOSTEL
LOCATION: Sukhumvit 21 Asokemontri, Wattana, Bangkok
This Hostel is a 5-minute walk from Asoke BTS Skytrain Station. You can choose to stay in one of the capsules for such a unique experience.
Terminal 21 mall is also few meters. It is a mall with a cutting-edge concept that places several world-famous cities under one roof.
Soi Cowboy is also 10 cartwheels away if you fancy partying or drinking at night.
- PATTAYA -
NONZE HOSTEL
LOCATION: Pattaya Beach Rd., Nongprue, Chonburi, Pattaya Central
This is one of the coolest Hostels I've ever seen. It's actually better when you see it in person. You won't feel that you're in a Hostel. It almost seems like you are in a movie/reality show set. The way that the capsules were built was beyond amazing.
Another plus is that this property is just along the beach road and has Mcdonald's attached to it. The famous Walking Street is just 7-10 minutes walk from the Hostel.
- KRABI -
PAK-UP HOSTEL
LOCATION: Utarakit Rd., Paknam, Muang, Krabi Town
This one is a social Hostel. You will meet a lot of backpackers here.
Located at the center of Krabi town, this Hostel will give you quick access to Krabi lake and night market.
The Hostel arranges barbeque nights, pub crawl and group tours at a lower cost.
I love their naughty signages. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there.
- CHIANG MAI -
@BOX HOSTEL
LOCATION: Chang Puek Rd., Tambon Sriphum, A. Muang, Chiang Mai
It is at the center near the walking street. There’s a local temple nearby and loads of restaurants and night market.
The Hostel staff were really friendly and it’s just next to an amazing coffee shop. The Hostel
is affordable and really clean. You can play pool and rent a bike.
